This month, Jason found himself in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Indiana show was booked a week in advance while traveling through Indianapolis. CT Pepper’s graciously let Jason up on stage with Mardelay (http://mardelay.com) and the Franchize (http://thefranchize.com). Welcome to all the new members from this little tour, and thanks for hooking up with the list.
WEBSITE
The biggest news this month is that the website has been completely redone and is entirely interactive. Ultra Entertinment out of Arizona has been working hard to create a site that will be everything we need. There’s live chat and a message board! You can post your own pictures that you’ve taken at a show. You can send private messages to other fans. If you’re new to the AfterLife, you can read the AfterLife Archives to see how we’ve grown and changed, not just in fan base, but in character, in business savvy, band members, and writing style. And, Oh yeah……We have a chat room!!!!! Thank you to bringing us to this point, and us includes you.
If you were a fan before the website changed hands, you recieved an email notification of the change. You can go to the site, input your email, and you will receive your password. Once you are registered, and if you chose, please go to the messsage board and introduce yourself in the Quick Introductions Post.
STREET TEAM
This week, Laura from Ultra Entertainment will be taking Jason under her wing to begin the street team. This month, we will be learning exactly how the street team works. If you notice next to your name when you login to the website there is an "R", meaning Registered Fan. Street Team Members will also receive an "ST". Team members will have incentives and prizes for bringing people out to the shows, helping to work the merchandise table, helping to book shows or simply wearing their AfterNine shirts. This Friday, one member is even bringing "band snacks" to the Radio Tavern; Thanks Hemi!
This is for anyone who would like to get involved at pushing the success of AfterNine. You get to be as involved as you’d like. The best Street Team ever is the reason that Los Lonely Boys made there way to the big stage. If you’d like to see what a Street Team does check them out @ http://www.loslonelyboys.org. It’s amazing what fans can do.
Some have chosen to take the project of AfterNine and make it their own; to see something and want to help it succeed. Thank you, and we appreciate every one of you. If you’d like to learn more about the Street Team, and be part of the Street Team in your area, applications for the street team will soon be available on the website; we’re hoping next week.
If you know of a place you’d like to see Jason or AfterNine, you can send a message to Contact/Booking, and we’ll take it from there.

THE BAND
Jason Lanning continues to be the backbeat for shows when Jason isn’t playing solo. This month Dave French will be bringing up the bottom end @ the Radio Tavern, a 50 minute set of mostly original material including one new song that was written by Steve Eller (Jason’s big brother) http://theesp.com. And on New Year’s Eve, Rod Francis will play bass at Champ’s in Middleville as we ring in the new year with a lot of Rock and hopefully a few kisses at midnight. And, Oh yeah……We have a chat room!!!!!
LAKE FX RADIO
Big thanks to Lake FX Radio for having Jason live on the air again on Thursday, Dec. 2. We had a great time with Anisa, who you can also catch with Jason at the Toys for Tots show on Thursday, Dec. 9. And after last Thursday’s show? Wow! LFX really knows how to show it’s artists their appreciation (in the form of a building known as Cadillac Jack’s/The Blue Note). These guys are helping to put Jason and AfterNine into the Detroit market. You can listen online @ http://LakeFXRadio.com. And when you go, get on the message board, hit CTRL-F and do a search for the name Rick Smith: Had a very interesting comment from an overaggrevated Grand Rapids musician.
BOOKING AND RECORD LABELS
If you read the last AfterLife, you know that cds were sent to record labels and agents. As of this newsletter, there has been no reply from either. SO what do we do? This week, we’ll be purchasing postcards to send to the same companies offering thanks for their time. In the next set of packets that go out, there will be a self-addressed, stamped postcard. This will hopefully allow the reviewers to have a 4 or 5-check postcard to give some sort of feed back as to their opinion. And, Oh yeah……We have a chat room!!!!!
MOVIE IN THE WORKS
The upcoming independent feature film 'Buck Moon' is currently in pre-production. This Evil Dead-ish thriller will pit Jason as Oswald, the morgue-attendant sidekick to the bounty hunter Buck Moon. More details as they become available.
FROM JASON
Thank you so much. I know some of you don’t even read to this point, and some will read through this entire letter; if not when you receive it, but sometime during the week when your schedule allows. And two of you are using this as part of a school project in your own way. That’s great. When this whole thing began, it was Rick and I plunking away up in Ludington. And now, you keep me going, by giving me the drive to continually push forward and do what it takes to make this happen (whatever IT manifests itself as). You are part of this. And will remain so as long as you choose. Of all of the names on the email list, it’s nice to know that I can look at about 80% of them and recall where I met you. It truly is impossible for me to express how much you’ve touched me. I hope that the holiday you celebrate enriches your life, whether it be with friends, family or in your earnest heart.
That’s it. That’s the AfterLife.
And, Oh yeah……We have a chat room!!!!!
