  This is The AfterLife

  GRTV-
This Thursday, Jason will be recording "No Cover TV" at GRTV
Studios in Grand Rapids.  It's quite intimate; no more than 15 people.  There will be
stops and breaks, maybe re-starts to a few songs. And the final product will be
shown on GRTV a few weeks later. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP. There
are only ten seats open to the public as of today.  Know this: please show up
by 7pm when the recording begins.  GRTV will close the doors and may not
allow access while filming.  If you do need to leave, you will be asked to do so
  during a break.

  Moving on-
Monday, Jason turned in his resignation to the superintendent of
Grant Public Schools.  Thank you to all the staff of Grant Public Schools who have
continually followed AfterNine from its inception; the year Jason
secured his first teaching position.  We will see you again.
That's right.  The time has come to furiously seek the dream; to
survive playing music around the country.  It will be a great amount of work,
but then again, luck is hard work.  Along with the help of J & J Entertainment
(http://jjentertainment.biz) Jason has shows booked in New York, Vermont,
Montana, Maine.....You can check other dates posted on the website.  This is
one more step.  One more rite of passage.  The biggest move made to this
  point.
We hope you will support Jason with your thoughts, prayers, chants, spells,
meditations.......or what ever you do to support those you stand
behind, as he seeks to chase that which cannot be caught.
Isn't that the point?  The journey?  To never stop learning.  Never
be complacent.  To thrive on what life puts infront of you.  Risks
(preferably somewhat calculated) make life exciting.  We encourage you to take a
risk at something whether it's being a mom, a painter, a new lawn company, or
a new job.  Don't stand still.

  Website-
New construction for the website will begin soon and take few
months.  What would you like to see?  Anything New?  Anything that should be ripped
from the page?  This whole experience could not happen without those of you
who have read to this point in this AfterNine Update.  So we would love your
  input.

Redarding –Expendable Musicians from last month's Update.
Moves have been made regarding May's cancellation's.  It is the
business of  music, and it sucks sometimes.  Although not made public, nothing is
hidden. This truly is a look into the journey of everything that is AfterNine
(Good and Not so Good-we call those lessons).   If you'd like to know what
music is like on the business side, feel free to send a response and we will let
you know what has happened regarding this venue.

Thoughts that support Lyrics (Song Spotlight)
Run Child Run - Written March 2004(mp3 on website)
  -
Child, Will you be a braver man than I?
My Son, Will you reach the higher sky than mine?
I will not cap the ceiling when you build your ladder high.

I hope the forest offers you plenty of lumber as you preen the wealth
  your love has spun,
      Oh Run Child Run
  -
Old Man, Your mental asthma's had its time.
Father, won't you draw your name with a thicker line?
When you're not busy stacking sandbags in the sun

Could you stand behind me, Father, and scream at the top of your
  lungs,      Oh Run Child Run?
  -
I hope my father still loves me.
I want to be a better man than he.
I pray my son will respect me.
I want him be a better man than me.
  -
Run. Run. Won't you run child?
Run. Run. Oh Run child Run!
  -
  Runaway.
Be what you can:  Be what you can: Be what you can be.
  -----
Jason's Excerpt - Imagine a grown man afraid to be better that his
parents: To think it would be some sort of insult for him to say to his mother
and father, "I want to be better than you are."  But truely, shouldn't we take
all that we are given from those who teach us and give more to those we teach?
No matter how "right" or "wrong" one generation thinks another is, is it wrong
to assume that we can learn from our children, as they learn from us?
Generations should stand on the shoulders of their forebearers to continually reach new
heights. If I have children, I hope they take what I give them and run with it
  as fast  as they can.
P.S. Thanks mom and dad for helping me get to this point - as
nervous as you are for me.
        Jason

And that's it.  That's the AfterLife.  Thanks for being a part of the  experience.
