Hello everyone,

May I offer my humble apologies first.  I have always, until now, written a
note to each person I meet at the venues I play.  With the number of people and
the amount of venues increases, time is not always a luxury.  I guess it's a
good thing, but I hope I never fail to connect with each of you one more time.
It is you who allowed this to happen.  Thank you so much for your support of
me and AfterNine.  It is you who all make this possible.  I hope to see each of
you out again this summer.

If you would, could you please just hit reply so I can verify that I've typed
in your address correcty?  THanX!

As busy as I get, anyone who emails me personally will always recieve one back
within a week.  So feel free to start up conversation.

Thank You Boys and Girls,

  Jason

This is the AfterLife:  The following of experiences and the happenings of an
identity; AfterNine.  AfterNine is currently Jason Eller.  This is the monthly
update of the goals made in this Journey that is AfterNine.  You, new receivers
and those recieving emails from the start, are the support that allows this to
carry on.  Thank you.  Some check the dates.  Some read on.  Do what you can
when you can.

By the way, if you want to read the chronicles of the AfterLife to see where we
were and where we've come, they are now on the webpage.

Here we go!

Jason is currently enrolled in Montana State University working on his Masters
of Science in Science Education; taking Medical Microbiology and a Science
Curriculum course.  Doesn't that sound fun!  Apparently you can never have to
much to do..until it makes you sick and run down.  But our bodies can decide
when we really need to sleep.

Tequila Willy's - Just an awesome time!  So many new friends.  Thanks Tonia
(Mgr)!

Agent
Along with Dates on Montana and Georgia, Dates have been secured in Vermont and
Maryland. Dates will soon be on the website. If you'd like to visit J & J
Entertainment's website, this is it.  http://jjentertainment.biz.

Goals
New Sound Clips are still not up, but they will be by the end of next week.

Website
New pictures from The BOB and Champs in Middleville are up.  Some pictures are
still not working, but the "Tech Guy"'s body told him it was time to sleep and
fix it later.  Last month's AfterLife is up there too.

Press
This Wednesday, Jason is going into GRTV studios to record Kingsfoil
(http://kingsfoilmusic.com) live as they record a T.V. show with Al Brady
(local TV guy).  Thanks to Kingsfoil, Jason has been given the opportunity to
do an interview in August.  (GRTV is the local public access channel in Grand
Rapids).  We'll keep you posted.

Gettin' Bigger
Jason like's to send a personal message to each person who signs up with the
AfterLife.  This past month, that was not possible.  With the amount of shows
and support we've received, the email list became too much to handle.  A mass
mail had to go out welcoming everybody in.  This is a rite of passage; to move
to a level where the community is so large that we can't keep up as well.  So
many connections have been made.  It is you who make this possible.  Thank you
for making this so big.  We welcome your emails and will still reply to all of
them, even if it takes a week.

Expendable Musicians?
What do you think?  Two days before a set of weekend shows, the call came in
that they were cancelled, due to a change of format.  A small contribution was
made to AfterNine as a "sorry-I-screwed-up" gift from the venue's booker.  How
do you rate musicianship on the expendability scale?  Pulling out two days
before the shows?  Is there no integrity in the music business?  When trying to
reach a compromise with the venue's booker, his reply was, "Well, I have the
purse (meaning money)." and "It's a matter of the 'Have's' and 'Have-Not's'."
This was the end of the conversation, and unfortunately ill feelings do
reside.  But that's ok, we're just going to play at the venue next door.  What
do you think?  Is it business?  Is it a lack of integrity?  Are we whining?
Should something be done?  Can anything be done?  Let us know.  As always, this
is a place for true criticism.  Your opinions are safe here.  You can reply or
email Jason directly with your comments (jason@afterninerocks.com).

Which brings us to....what do you guys think about a message board where you
can post messages for AfterNine and discuss topics as a fan-base?  This may
also allow the valve that take the large community and make it seem a little
smaller.  Let us know and we'll get on that.

Thoughts that support Lyrics (Song Spotlight)
Million in One ( Nashville's Joke)
This song was written on the way to Nashville for a showcase in front of 36
record  company reps.  The idea is that to make it in music is a million in one
shot.  ("So you're sayin' there's a chance." Dumb and Dummer) But who are we to
believe that we are not unique.  It's about belief in one's self; allowing
ourselves to be that one in a million.    The rest of the song was written on
the way Back from Nashville, when the realization came about that this was a
scam.  36 record company reps were INVITED.    They believed in me enough to
offer the chance to give them 12 grand to make a demo disc (That's Nashville's
joke).  Such is life. Wouldn't trade the learning experience for 1/2 the peanut
butter in the world.

That's it.  That's the AfterLife.

C-U out this summer,

 AfterNine
