It just keeps getting better. While in Phoenix, AZ this past week, thanks to two wonderful ladies (from DZZY Entertainment), Jason was introduced to the O'Neil brothers who run Brooklyn Bridge Entertainment (http://bklynbridgeentertainment.com). On the good word of DZZY, BBE decided to meet with Jason. Then Jason was asked to play 2 clubs in Phoenix with FAT RHABIT at open mic nights. The first club; very posh: Diverse crowd of older and younger folk from different ethnicities. The only one who didn't like the music was the owner..but we were more concerned with the mass that loved something fresh. The people down here are hungry for music with meaning.
The second place was a place where we were allowed entrance based on the fact that we were associated with BBE because of the respect that follows their name. BBE ha! d just finish shooting a commercial for Curtis Blow (old school rapper that was in the crowd during the performance). After the songs, the crowd raved, and the buzz began.
Now. DZZY Entertainment (in association with BBE) is booking as this letter is being written. We are in a period of limbo, so please bear with us as the website may not be updated regularly. If you'd like more information, jump in the chat room, logon to the message board or email jason personally at jason@AfterNineRocks.com. Currently, Jason is about 1 1/2 weeks out before being able to respond to his emails.
So where to from here. It's hasn't been an easy thought to think, but this opportunity comes with a price. The thought of missing everyone has been almost overwhelming at times. Yet, look where we're going. Investors are purchasing a house for Jason to live in and opening a studio fo! r recording, while BBE promotes the shows. Jason will be in Michigan for 3 dates in July (7, 8, and 9). Jason Lanning will be joining up for 2 dates, also. And then, it's on to Chicago for a show as Jason takes Mercedes to her new home in Phoenix (Thanks Britt for taking care of Mercedes). BBE has asked that Jason relocate to Arizona while recording brand new studio tracks of his songs. Artists 4A Cause (http://Artists4ACause.com) has let Jason out of his contract, and Jason will be helping to promote Artists 4A Cause, playing whenever scheduling allows. Chris Lowry and Angie Laug have been not only colleagues, but friends and advisors. Thank you, A4aC!
J&J Entertainment no longer books for Jason. This relationship has been dissolved. If you'd like specifics, Jason loves to answer questions regarding what it's really like to be in the business of music, but we don't feel the AfterLife is the place to free all aspects of the business...unfortunately, politics ! still remain.
We know that the bulk of the fans are in Michigan, and we hope you support this decision....This could be huge! Without risk, success is optional. We hope this will just make the party bigger when the chance to come home to Michigan arises.
See you in July, Michigan!
That's it.
That's the AfterLife

"To all the fans: This step brought to you by you. Every affirmation. Every clap. Every scream. Every request for original music has brought us here. Possibly a new rite of passage for us. Thank you."
