Welcome to all the newbies from the shows @ 621 and Teazers. Make sure you check the website to see your picture.
You have recieved the AfterLife: the life of AfterNine and JAsoN elLeR.
This is the part of the update you read when you have an extra 3 minutes.
AfterNine is the band-form of the music that is played by Jason Eller. Currently, Jason is working solo playing around west Michigan, but we are working hard to break new scenes.
The AfterLife is about showing the public the journey of a musician; that is - This is not about hype. It's about the music. It is about reality. It's about playing music that people enjoy, and writing the music that can be trusted to tell tales of relevance and reverence.
This Month brings Jason's debut to the Chicago scene. The Elbo Room has been booked for April 16. This is a rather large Chicago venue for live original music. This is just one more step. If you want to be there, Email the AfterLife@AfterNineRocks.com. Some west Michiganders have chosen to make a weekend out of it to support Jason, and we'll see what we can do if you'd like to hook up with others who understand the AfterLife.
Also, there have been many more contacts made in Chicago. There is now more waiting and call backs in two weeks. That's how it gets done. That's the 'business' of music. Some of this weeks calls were even disheartening to the AfterNine project. Some don't see it. Some have yet to really see it. Some see it and love it. And still others do not have a place for it.
It is.... what it is.
In other new developments, a contract has been signed between Jason and a college booking agent. This has been finely thought out and agreed upon by both parties. Currently, there are three contracts out to schools in Indiana, and we await their return. This will place Jason in three school at the end of May. The contracts have not yet come back, so there is no guarantee, but you will be kept up to date. Again, it's not hype, it's just the truth.
If you have seen Jason out this month, you have noticed the style change. Last month, in front of 350 7th and 8th graders, "Mr. Eller" lopped off his locks and donated them to Locks of Love, a company that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy. Short-hair pictures are now on the website.
And That's It.
That's the AfterLife
